Introduction

Today I am starting a new class at Ashford University. The class is EDU 671 Fundamentals of Educational Research. In this class I will learn how to perform active research in order to improve education. I am a little worried, because I do not intend to use my degree to become a teacher, but I am looking to achieve a career in the field of corporate training.

This week I will have to come up with my research topic. Thus, I will have to put on my thinking cap. I was thinking I should choose one of the reasons why I want to go into the field in the first place. Currently I work in fast casual food service, and training is just not what it should be. I worked a few years for McDonalds and Starbucks who seem to have training better in hand.

The young people that are coming through my doors these days expect a little more from training then we did in my days. Today's workers are looking for more training and training tools, they do not like the feeling of uncertainty. I would like to bridge that gap a little.

  1. I did then what I knew how to do. Now that I know better, I do better.
